3-Point Hitch Hairpin Clip Mystery

I lost one of those from my B2320. I found a pack of assorted pins at either my local TSC or ag. coop and ended up with several pins that worked.

At one time TSC had an assortment with several different sizes in it. Of course that means you'll get a whole lot of sizes you don't need and very few of the ones your do need.

I must have lost the hairpin, then the factory pin itself, both very early on. Now each side has a 4" 1/2" bolt, no hairpin(s), nut's or anything, just gravity, and don't you know it the same bolts have over 1000 hours on them never getting lost. 1 side is a grade 8, the other just prolly tsc junk. No difference in wear.:drink:

With my snow blade mounting I have a similar problem.
I solved it by drilling the 'pin hole' oversized and inserted 1/2 bolt and self locking nuts.


I also replaced all the hairpins on my 3 point pins with 1/2" hardware as more than a few times I end up minus the odd one.
LOL, it started off by just having a suitable 1/2" on hand 'just in case' until over time I had replaced all 4.
Naturally when the hairpin falls out you can never find the missing clevis pin either.

If you are using them on the stabilizers on the arms then get pins that have spring ball (best way i know to describe them, Lowes here had them) or just use longer pins dropped in there. I have used them this way for years.

I too never use the hair pin and for years never had a adjusting pin come out, how can it?
