Just getting ready to test out some 507 gr .459 projectiles. I made up some with .0145 aluminum gas checks, and some with .016 copper gas checks, will see if I can tell any difference.

Just getting ready to make some more hard lube too.. getting my beeswax block ready.

Your comment "unless it all you can handle" tells me enough to know that you would not make a very good instructor for someone just learning about sidearms for self protection. You don't knock people or put them down because they don't meet what YOUR criteria is for a self defense round.

Would you lie to someone and tell them a 22 is a valid self defense, round or would you tell them it is a good round to learn with? I would do the latter.

I surely would want to give anyone some false sense of secruity, by letting them think they have a good choice for protection. That is enough of a trap, with people carrying guns, and thinking they can take care of anything or go anywhere.

22 is not a big game hunter, but people use it to learn. Not sure why I am such an awful person for being honest.

Sorry you took the heat for me when Zerk disagrees or is angered by the fact that my wife can shoot a gun darn well.

What does your wife's marksmanship have to with this? If she could shoot the balls off a knat at 50 yards, I still think a 22 would be a poor choice.

If a 22 was so great, we would have our cops carrying it. They are trained in firearms, and situational awareness. Same for our military. Think of all the money we could save. Plus not having to carry those heavy guns. We could send them out with thousands of rounds.

Bought till I could make my own. Freechecls makes a hammer punch/form that you basically just slide in copper or aluminum stock and whack.. Uts a hole punch that takes the disk and forms it over a mandrel.
