When I was talking about Glocks and 10mm, I figured people knew SA meant semi auto. Glocks are a semi auto, and 10mm are rimless, typically used in a semi auto.

Practice and training is great. It will help you when a guy jumps out of the dark, but it is still good to have enough gun. You may not be able to take a good stance, breath and aim.

I know you can kill with a 22. Still not the right tool for self defense, unless it all you can handle or have room for.

Personally I think people who say otherwise are just blow hards, who think to much of themselves.

Better watch out.. you are contradicting yourself. The
22. Still not the right tool for self defense, unless it all you can handle or have room for

The logical conclusion of your statement is that if it is all you could handle OR had room for, then it could be the right tool. Remember what this threads about.

And then you say that people that think otherwise are blowhards.. etc.. except, you yourself have just created an exception for people the sentence before, where it could be the correct tool.

Your post directly contradicted itself.. in the space of 2 lines of text. Congrats!

Your comment "unless it all you can handle" tells me enough to know that you would not make a very good instructor for someone just learning about sidearms for self protection. You don't knock people or put them down because they don't meet what YOUR criteria is for a self defense round.

So basically you were pissed off enough that you weren't seeing straight, and couldn't differtiate between SG's post and mine, and directed your anger toward me.

.

Yup.. in medical psychology, thats called:

Berserker-blind rage syndrome: A dissociative disorder where a person reacts violently to something they see, hear or feel.

Sorry you took the heat for me when Zerk disagrees or is angered by the fact that my wife can shoot a gun darn well. ;)

Oh, I got some guns. Should we start talking hand loads and powder? Ballistics and path?

I'm not sure what that quote was from.. but if from my post, you edited it.

We can certaintly talk handloads and powders and ballistics. I handload everything from 22lr thru 458 LOTT safari cartridges.

I cast, make my own gas checks, bp caps, reload primers, reform brass, etc. The whole enchilada. Ballistic calculators and powder burn charts are everywhere, take your pick.

Single action SA and Double action DA and Double action only DAO are also valid terms.. if you are going to use terms with the same acronyms, that could apply to the same guns.. then you need to clearly state what you mean.

A Glock is an interesting design.. it's almost a cross between SA and DAO.. but it's probably safer to say that it is SA with some spring take up by the trigger. ( slide 'partially' cocks the gun, trigger finishes cocking it, then fires it ).

Yes he did! And I thank him for his service. ;)

Just getting ready to test out some 507 gr .459 projectiles. I made up some with .0145 aluminum gas checks, and some with .016 copper gas checks, will see if I can tell any difference.

Just getting ready to make some more hard lube too.. getting my beeswax block ready.
