Ah yes. This reminds me of earlier this year when the esteemed OP himself took on the self-appointed duty of 'Grammar/Spelling Constable' (more like a 'Corrections Officer', but I digress...).

To the point of handing out rebukes and the threat of fines. :cop:

As a public service, I attempted to draw attention to the grammar crimes committed on TBN, especially homophone abuse. My hope was that drawing attention to those crimes would reduce their incidence. Alas, my efforts have been to no avail.

I did write "collusion" when I meant to write "collision" and I was mortified when James (KOua) pointed out my error. I have paid dearly for that lapse as the Professional Organization of English Majors (POEM) has suspended my auxiliary membership.

It was admitted to be a show about nothing that made sense. People either love it or hate it. It did serve to enrich three or four actors and a producer, and it was a money maker for the network, and continues to be, in syndication.

Seems like it was just one of many shows that helped to set much of the population onto a life of non-thinking mindlessness/consumerism. I don't want to think, just entertain me, tell me what to buy, how to feel and I'll be happy . . . NOT!

Ironic post, given what Festivus purported to be.

But if you watched the show enough to have such a strong opinion, I certainly can’t argue. I just like the idea of Festivus, an imaginary holiday that pokes fun at the commercialism of the Christmas season.
