I hear what you are saying. I'm not the most experienced tractor owner, but, I do know that every once in while you need to improvise to get the job done.

p.s. I have fond memories going to Cherokee National Forest when I lived in Athens. Absolutely the most beautiful part of the country.

Has anyone had a problem with the post office refusing to accept the hitch with the label simply taped on as opposed to being in a box?
Why would you do that? Put it back in the box it came in.

Because the box was destroyed in the process of product extrication and subsequently incinerated. Eh?

The quality of this product seems to be quite a question throughout this thread, and who is responsible for the screwup of size. I own a company that manufactures products in China, and when it comes to quality control they are terrible. We use as many as 10 different companies. And we are constantly getting bad orders and having to return products. We actually now have a full-time person in the factories doing quality control, the person is from our company. It would be almost impossible for a company to be able to check every product coming in, all I can say is dealing with companies in China is a nightmare. So I would believe that most of the blame falls back on them, but ultimately we take responsibility for the products we sell.

OOPs! Go to the appliance store and get a big box. Use the cardboard to create a box-like covering around the hitch. Making a new box will probably save you a lot of grief.

Has anyone shipped this Harbor Freight quick hitch to Canada, I just got a price of $92 US for the shipping only. I live 100 miles from the border.

My point all along was just to be sure HF knew how the quality is. I didn't have a problem with widening the bottom slots. HF has stood behind the product as much as I think they can.My thought would be if the widened the cast bottom hook when it was welded together, it would be the correct width.
The Tech center at HF knows about the problems.
I wish I could say that because it wasnt made in the US that it was bad, but I really cant. I bought a car lift, and specifically wanted it to be made in the US. I figured the wekds etc would be much better . I am overall pleased with it, except that the ,mount for the HYD pump was crooked. And when pump was put on it really looked crooked.
I do wonder, if the three bud cans I found in the steel towers had anything to do with it.

Got my free gloves yesterday.

Shipping date on the hitch is supposedly 7/3 so we'll keep our fingers crossed.

Still haven't got my gloves. Just widened my slots with the bolt method. Will see if everything else fits tomorrow.
