Harbor Freight paint guns?

I see the $40 gun, the one with a regulator, in their Dollar Days ad (page 5) for $25. Sale ends 1/22.

The one Sully2 pictured is occasionally as low as $10.

The guns are almost piece for piece identcal except the regulator....but if you watch close...you can sometimes pick up that reg for $5 on sale. I bought a different model mini regulator for $5 on sale from them instead.

I see Harbor Freight has some paint guns in their ad. I was thinking I should get one for painting implements I make, maybe a tractor some day. Anybody use their paint guns? Which one(s)? Are theirs any good? What to look for in a paint gun? I have never actually used one so.....

I have 3 of their guns.. got one over 5ys ago.. appears to be a cheap 'Binks' knockoff.

it was a 14.99 gun at the time.. but marked down to 9.99$.. I bouhgt it and have use dit up till last year,.. I have now relegated it to solely be a primer gun, and then bought a new one for paint.. and a 1-cup touch up gun for small jobs.

Key is adjusting them.. then ALWAYS cleaning them like they were a 300$ gun.

The insids and all air holes on my 9$ gun are squeaky clean... and that makes it keep working..

I have about a thousand dollars worth of paint guns in my cabinet. I have two gravity fed guns that I mainly use. One I use to spray primers and most industrial paints. It's a $140 Sharpe. A buddy of mine has one of the HF knock-offs for $40 and it works just as well as my high dollar Sharpe.

For top coats and high grade finishes, I use a $600 Sata. The Sharpe or HF knock-off can't compete with it, but unless you are painting show cars, it doesn't matter.

For the money, you have to go with the HF guns for basic painting needs.

You CAN...but the only ones Ive been able to get are all aluminum instead of .."plastic"...$14.95 and Ive never seen them "on sale".

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

Used it to paint the trailer. Just thinned some black rustoleum, worked great. I cranked up the pressure to put on more paint faster. $17!! I was planning on tossing it after the paint job but it cleaned up nicely and is on the shelf. I use a Binks Mach I HVLP for my furniture. Not sure if there is that much difference.

I got one of the 25$ HVLP gravity feed with regulator setups from Cummins traveling tool sale i got it to paint one truck and it did a very good job id rather pay 25 for a cheap china spray gun that pay 80 for the same setup at walmart home depot etc

Its identical to the husky at HD and several of the Harbor Frieght setups

I bought their HVLP spray gun a year ago when it was on sale for $45... I've only used it for spraying clear lacquer on furniture, but I am impressed with it, especially for the money. I don't know how well it would work with thicker finishes, considering you can't change out the nozzle, but for thin paints, it's good. Seems to be well made, and cleans easily.
