I agree, at the time I ordered mine, my friends was on backorder for two weeks plus. You'd think they could indicate this. If one was to order the hitch, and , say a stack of electrical tape. thats $2.99 and then add the shipping of $9.99 only to have the hitch cancelled its would sure be expensive tape.
So backordered isn't all that bad, unless you need it right away.
As I posted they don't charge the card till they ship. I bought a car lift two years ago, and they billed me the next day. Then took over a month to get it to my door.I recieved the credit card bill, and saw that there was a charger on it, and no lift. So I called the card company, and it went into disputed are mode.
Two days later it arrived. And I called the card company back, and had them "re-instate" the charge. which they did. But it stretched the lift company from getting their money another month plus.
Its not good business practice to bill for something that hasnt even been shipped out the door. They just do it to have the money in their pockets immediately.
I have had other things backordered and it didnt take long to get. I have never had a back-order been cancelled before either.

OH also remember to look through many many sale flyers to get the best price. There was one on here with the hitch for 69.00 dollars. And others for 89.00 dollars.
