Careful with the HF Farm Jack.

I don't own one, but I have two of the original Hi-Lift jacks that this is a clone of. These have lots of ways to hurt you. Last time I used my Hi-Lift, to turn my rotary mower up on edge to wash under it, the jack (and the mower) fell after I lowered it a couple of clicks. Think Safety before doing anything, like a construction worker would who still has all his fingers. I wouldn't let my wife or

daughters use mine.

Absolutely correct.
Don't ever let go of the handle when being used or it will find a way to knock your teeth out or crush your jaw and I'm not exaggerating. Also, keep lubed with WD40.

Yeah, I might let my wife use one of those jacks if

(a) I had her insured for a few $mil

(2) Didn't have 48 years invested in training (of me, not her  )

(c) She wasn't almost as much of a tool junkie as I am

(4) We didn't need each other to remember what the other one forgot so dang much

(e) She actually followed directions, recipe's, etc....

IOW, NO BLEEPIN' WAY !!!

Besides, I built a post puller 30 years ago that STILL has more metal in it than 5 of the HF ones, and if that doesn't work the BH has chain hooks on the bucket (from about 20 minutes after I bought it  ) ...Steve

The Blue Western Safety work gloves are well made and have significantly outlasted leather work gloves. You can run them thru washer and dry on top of dryer over and over.

They go on sale for about $4 all the time.

Agree.. bought a couple of pairs a few weeks ago. Thinner than the 'mechanics' gloves, but still tough for most jobs.

Oh, and rain cleans them fairly well

I bought a 3 pack of their leather welding gloves and they work fine as long as you don't go near heat. Heat tends to shrink and harden them. I got them for my wood stove more than welding. **** dog keeps chewing them if I turn my back for a few seconds. The cheap price of the HF overcomes the not dealing well with the heat.
