Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Confiscating the paper coupon is bogus. Take a picture of it with your phone and use it over and over. They usually just scan the barcode off my phone pic. If that doesn't, I read the number off of it and they type it in. I talked to the store manager about reusing coupons on subsequent visits and he said of course!

I use to print out the coupons since they are online and always have a link to a printable version. Now I do the same, just show them the coupon on my phone. Never had them reject it.

I keep a picture of them on my phone. Too many times my data would fail inside the store and couldnt bring up the coupon.

Huh? I don't need wifi or cellular service to access my photos on my phone. :confused3:

You may if it's in your email. Mine has a problem expanding and positioning the bar code in my email app. I have had to take a screen shot and expand it in my images.

I use to check for online coupons in some stores as I was shopping and have run across some where you cannot get a data connection. I think some stores block cell phone data but they may just be in a bad spot or have a shielded structure.

Industrial Air Filter Regulator

One caveat: the product reviews duplicate my experience - you need to take this one all apart, clean out shavings, reassemble with O-rings centered and teflon tape on all threads to end the air leaks. Then you have the decent quality tool you thought you were buying. 'Some Assembly Required'. :)

As with many other things HF, this might not be quite so simple. One reviewer noted that newer versions of this are glued together. No more leaks, but lotsa luck getting it apart without destroying it if you need to.

It seems to vary by store around here. I don't think they've ever confiscated a coupon at the store down South by my house.

The store up North will definitely take the coupon if you let go of it / leave it on the counter, but they won't pull it out of your hand if you don't let go.

It never occurred to me to ask for a coupon back...coupons at any other store (supermarket, etc.) need to be turned in when used, figured HF was the same deal. Not a biggie...always have plenty from flyers or newspaper inserts, usually keep a "spare" in my wallet in case the one I tried to use was expired. I do wish they could print the expiration date in slightly bigger type...tough to read even with a magnifying glass!

Oops, sorry buckeye... I misread your post. My bad.
I could have been clearer, but that would involve more typing on my phone keyboard.

Saw a new HF where the boys are in school.

1) Usually [not always] at grocery stores, etc- the coupons are manufacturers coupons, so the store needs them to charge back to the mfg.

HF's are issued by the corporation redeeming them to itself.

2) You just gave a tutorial on why so many people are keeping their coupons in the virtual world of saved photo on phone...
a) To have a spare at all times.
b) So you can swipe it larger to read fine print and expiration date.
c) So the store can't confiscate it.

3) I used the phone trick for the first time over the w/e, and the cashier couldn't use the code reader to scan it, she had to read the numbers off of it, and manually input them- no skin off my nose though- I got my %25 off.
