Hard line damage

   / Hard line damage #11
I would not want to try to straighten it by bending it back. Instead I would want to re round the kinked area. FWIW, I would drill out an appropriate hex nut to the tubing OD and cut the nut in two thru opposing points. Then file/round/polish all sharp edges that would touch the tube. Then Id clamp it around the tube with Vise Grips, squeezing and re orienting it a little at a time to make the cross section as round as possible again. The bend would straighten somewhat while doing this. :confused3:

Never would have thought of doing it that way.
Great Idea:thumbsup:

Add some wear protection around the bend.

Look at the rust and maybe do something about that.:)

Find out what all you need for replacement so you are prepared;)

Ok, you convinced me. I am padding the line and ordering a replacement.
Thanks for all your input.

Hooked a tree limb with my loader and damaged my hard line.
My question is do I have to replace the hard line, I'm scared to try and bend it back in place.

You can replace it with regular ole' hydraulic hose if you have to get by. Trying to bend back a kinked hardline never works...
