We've had a nice slow rain here in Ohio for the past 3 days also. It's not supposed to let up until Tuesday, then I'll fire up the mower.

Diesel still goes further than gasoline.

No, because I mow with the tractor, and it's diesel /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actaully, out here, I mow the property twice. Once about now, and once in mid June. After that, nothing grows anyways unless it is irrigated.

I did though, get a Honda 31cc brush cutter/trimmer. It is 4 stroke. It is quieter and more gas thriifty than my old Husky(as well as the fact it requires no mix). It's funny, it sound just like an old Trail-50 /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We still mow the yard at least once per week. If we wait longer it clumps up and we then have to spend a few hours raking it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Our rain pattern has really caused me grief, when I'm off work it's either raining or too muddy to mow, then it's sunny and growing like crazy when I'm unavailable. Right now I've got knee-high in some places......

As to the cost of gas, well it's got to be mowed just like I've got to drive to work everyday, so I just have to budget for it......

I did notice how much more it costs to fill up that 5 gal gas can tho!

Horses go much farther than diesel anytime. Besides, if you spill diesel on the lawn, it kills the grass.

If a horse "spills" on the lawn, it makes it greener. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
