Have the fever for a new tractor

My dad has a 3720 with the MX6 and it works good. I am not sure about how an MX6 will work behind the 4120. Use your other tractor for mowing is probably the best option. Good luck. Oh, It is not fun taking off an MX6. I spent 20 minutes last time.

uncle wayne, that insurance quote may be misunderstood. I'm pretty sure you only pay once for the life of the financing, not per year. At least that was how it was when I bought my 4210 about four yrs ago and fairly certain it was that way on my 4120 this year.

Went to the dealer today to setup the financing paperwork and saw a new 4320 with a 400x loader sitting on his lot that had not been there before. Looked at it and it had several features the 4120 I was looking at did not (several that you had recommended): tilt steering wheel, cruise control, telescoping hitch arms, and a "floor" mat. Asked what the difference in the price would be from the 4120 and was pleasantly surprised. All that plus 5 more HP for $1200 more than the price of the 4120. I took it and the MX6. Supposed to be delivered next Tuesday.

John Deere requires insurance when you take the 0% financing (and may with other % also, I'm not sure). Insuring new equipment only makes good sense anyway but I found it pays to shop around. For the life of the contract all the equipment insured through JD was going to be $400 per year with a $500 deductible.

ALFA will insure the same equipment for $200 a year for as long as I own or want to insure it. Same coverage but with a $250 deductible. I have the option to reduce coverage as the equipment ages etc.

New tractor fever cured.
Wow, I paid $160.00 for insurance on my 2320 for the whole 48 month contract with JD and zero percent finance.

Hi, I just bought a JD 2720 and my insurance company said my homeowners policy had enough personal belongings coverage to cover the tractor. Net cost: $0.

They gave me a binder for JD finance.

Yeah, I misunderstood the dealer. It's $378 for the life of the contract (4 years). The MX6 made it higher than normal he said. JD now offers coverage after the financing period also.

You might check with Farm Bureau. I pay $92 a year on a 5203.

What happens if you pay it of early or trade. Do they give you a refund or are you paying as you go?

Thanks,
D.

We have a 4320 (no cab, E-hydro) and MX-6 - nice combination though we just got the MX-6 and haven't used it, just hooked it up. GOt the i-match hitch to make it fast to hook up - takes maybe 30 seconds once you have it adjusted. Powerful FEL; just watch with heavy loads as can lift enough to unbalance the tractor if nothing on the rear end. Works superbly with a 3-point woodsplitter as well.

Wayne, good luck with your new 4320. Hope you like/enjoy it as well as I do mine (identical to yours).
My homeowners insurance covers my tractor as long as it is on my property (300 acres) so I did not need additional coverage. :D

Paying as long as the original financing contract is in force, in my case 4 years. I have the option to continue the insurance after the contract is paid off and can remove the MX6 if desired. After the delivery the dealer told me the insurance would have been $258 for the 4 years ($64.50 per year) if I had just paid for the MX6 and not included it on the 0% financing. A little too late to do me any good but maybe this info will help someone else.
