Diamond R in freeburg just south of Jefferson city. They also have a higginsville location. Jim is or was the owner. Very fair dealing guy.

In early 2000's I drove from AZ to Southern Michigan to buy an International pickup. Had been looking for this particular model for some time. Knowing that these trucks had an issue with rust, I questioned the seller a number of times on how much rust the truck had. I was always told "NO RUST".
Should have known better, but I hooked up my trailer and headed out. Got there2 days later. Stopped, got out and walked over to it. #1- Opened drivers door and lifted the mat - RUST. Looked at lower door hinge pocket - RUST. Opened hood and looked at the cowl - RUST. Seller walked out the door and said "what do you think?" Said "you told me "NO RUST". He replied what do you expect, it's from Michigan. Told him that I "just drove 2000 miles for nothing". Got in my truck and left. Only good thing about that trip is that I got to spend an evening with an aunt that I hadn't seen in probably 20 years.

Yes. I purchased a new JD 2025R TLB from Ag Pro in Georgia. At the time, I lived in California. It arrived in perfect condition, but later (2yrs) learned they shipped the wrong 3pt hitch lift arms. They sent me the lift arms for the 1025R and that’s why my 3pt hitch wouldn’t go down as far as it should. Cost me a boy $175 to replace.

I bought a JD2555 from TN off of Facebook Marketplace sight unseen. I asked for more pictures, and noticed the owner (a business) was not giving me much in the way of pictures of the bucket. I flat out asked him about it, and he agreed to send one of the bucket. Yep, bucket had some issues, been welded on and had some cracks. You have to look at the pictures very close, pay close attention to what is said and done.
I got the tractor delivered halfway home as compensation for the bucket, which kept me from having to cross Mount Eagle with it. The rears are foam filled and very heavy. It has been the heaviest load I have hauled to date with my rig. I was sure glad the contract hauler got to go up and down that mountain with that tractor!

Found a truck I'd like to buy
11 hours and 800 miles+ away.
Guy seems pretty reasonable. Every photo I ask for he provides
Practically throwing it at me.
He dropped the price considerably and will have an employee drive it to me proving the truck must run pretty good.
Said he'd insure it for the trip up.

It's not exactly what I want, but it's cheap and low miles/hours.

It's got a CAT 3126 @ 275HP which will make the truck underpowered even when it's empty...just can't find a C12/13 powered or M-11 powered truck anywhere

Now I need to decide

Is it 800 miles south or west?
Consider having someone else look it over before it takes to the road?

800 south. It’s in Southern Georgia.
I figure anyone who says they’ll drive a truck 800+ miles or 11+ hours to deliver it is a testament to it’s mechanical conditions. It would almost have to be roadworthy.
Body looks rust free.

I’m just not real high on a Cat 3126 @275/860 for this truck. Might be fine, but judging by my having a 9.3L International @310/1150 on my smaller single axle dump-truck, I would have to think it’s underpowered.

Last 3126 Cat I drove was a little bigger than a water pump as far as HP! The bad thing was it was hooked to what Dispatch told me was a 13 speed tranny. Didn't shift like a 13, so i rode around to the guy who taught me to drive, for him to take a look at. He drove it across the rail yard a couple times, and came back and told me it was a 3x5 tranny... not a 13! Talk about an underpowered nightmare!
(3x5 is three gears in first hole b4 shifting to second hole, etc...
I don't have a lot of free time, but if you decide you need someone to look at it, South Ga isn't far, lol!

Unless you're in a hurry, try to hold out for one with more power.

Guess you won't be crossing the Rockies with it, but it still sucks to be underpowered.
