A week later, you get a call claiming that you owe money for agreeing to a plan and they play your voice saying yes to you. It's gotten enough people that it's now become an issue.

Yeah, I'd horse laugh em about it....."try collecting on it, fool...."

I think I got one of those calls a while ago. My wife is abed, not feeling well, so I picked up the phone after the first ring. Caller ID does not show on this phone. The first question the female caller asked would normally be answered "yes," but I avoided that answer. The next question was, "Are you (my name)?" Not thinking, I avoided saying "yes,", but replied "That is affirmative." The caller immediately hung up. I checked the caller ID on another phone after the call. It said "Valparaiso IN 219-465-1713." I believe that is probably spoofed. I believe that area code is in Ohio.

It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

That number is valparaiso, IN.

When you have caller ID, don't answer and type the number in google. A lot of times it will identify scam numbers from previous people reporting it.

Also, I got a scam call many years ago when scams were getting started. I listened and then told them this is a department of Defense phone and never call this number again...it was, they didnt.
