Having a problem with popup re-direction.

Interesting I wonder if there is a designator for tablets? I view TBN almost exclusively on my iPhone 6 and have never had a pop up.

I never had a popup until recently and it covers half the TBN page. It would be ok if I could "X" out of it and continue but when I do that it redirects me a page forward and I lose what I was doing. If I was posting, it just vanishes. Beats me but I can only occasionally post. There might be many more users with this problem that aren't saying anything.

The popup's were getting worse on this site with my ipad. More new ones were "popping up" from other item searches I was looking at on the web...but only when coming back to this site.

So I looked again online and finally saw a reference to adware problems and popup's. I went under settings >Safari >clear cookies and data. After several months of annoying popup's with this site...for now....they are gone! I also cleared history while I was at it, but I am sure that alone would not help with this particular problem.

It forces you to reregister your password etc. on this and other sites...but this is something to try if you are experiencing this problem with your ipad.

I can enjoy this forum again...for how long...time will tell. But this is great for now!

Btw, you will also lose any page searches in the tab bar, so if it is something you want to keep as a reference...book mark it.

Well, I was hoping the answer was that simple. I did try it, but unfortunately it did NOT help.
Still have the VERY annoying pop ups every time.
This is just on my ipad using Safari....... does not happen on my desktop PC at home.

Well, it worked for about 48 hrs. Now they are back...only on this site. So I think this is where the problem rests from what I have read. Certainly is annoying on this site.

I finally got rid of the popups. Here's how I did it.

Click on "tools" in the upper left of computer.
Click on "manage ad ons" and look for something that doesn't look right.
Mine was "shockwave flash object" I disabled it and no more pop ups.

It's been a couple hours and no pop ups so I think that's the one. Now I can go back to reading the TBN in peace.
