Having to get temp password

Why is it that everyone once in a while I have to get a temporary password, I don't have to totally register but I am required to the that darn temp password. Almost like someone is or wants to kick me off this site, if that is the case don't be coy just ask, I am sure there are others around.

I've never heard of a temporary password on this site. Doesn't your REAL password work when you type it in?

I guess I have never heard of a temporary password either?? Is it possible you have some temporary internet files or cache that is goofing you up?

A temporary password is one that you obtain when your password no longer allows you to log-on. I just had the same experience. A temporary password was sent. I used it to edit and change my password back to the original. What was in my password (DOTS) represented several times the length of the actual password.

Yes, this is because passwords are encrypted. We can't send back out the real password, unless it's not encrypted... which is less secure.
