Having to jump-start my D110

A person that owns a battery should have a charger. Many of the new fangled chargers won't work at all if the voltage is below 2 VDC or so. They just call it DOA. The Battery Tender Juniors are a neat little maintainer that will bring a battery to full charge and hold it there. Nothing will replace a load test or plate inductance test to determine battery health though. Set up a draw test , then remove the red wire that feeds the voltage regulator. There's your draw.

A terminology correction on my behalf. What I have been charging the battery with is an actual 6V/12V charger, not a 'trickle' charger.

I think that I got it in my head due to the literature/manual that said that "once the battery is charged it will switch to 'maintenance' and supply a trickle..." I do know that it won't save a battery if it's too far gone, though. Mind you, it only has three coloured LEDs on it; red - power on, amber - charging, and green - charged.

What I've discovered now is that "charged" is voltage only... amps takes a wee bit longer.
