Sold 80 New Round Balers this year so far, Find someone that has sold more ?

I stand corrected, if YOU managed to sell 80 of these things despite your approach they must be the best!

As far as the way people act in regards to the pickup truck wars I own a Ford but I would not buy from a Ford dealer who started the coversation by saying how bad Dodge and Chevy are. As a matter of fact I was at a Chevy dealer today with a friend and we came in my truck . The salesman didn't bash Ford, the first thing he said was that's a nice truck they have some pretty good write ups. Then he went on to show us his product and discuss it's merits.

How far do you think he would have gotten if he took the approach you took when starting this thread and told me how much my truck stunk or desribed it as an "off brand"?

F350Lawman,
Editorials sell news papers and sometimes I've been known to light the fuse but I'm not selling balers on TBN just creating some subject matter for the readers. All the parties posting on this thread know each others preferences. Any color is worthless if there is no dealer & MFG support.

Hey, I enjoy a good lively thread myself. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I understand you feel strongly about your product. If you stand behind them as strongly after the sale as you have done here I am sure your customers will be happy.

Woodbeef,
Both the Rebel 5400 and the 554 XL have the same basic features available with the exception of net wrap. Vermeer does not make the small 4'x4' baler like NH, JD & Hesston but the Vermeer 5400 will bale the 750 bales if desired as well as the 1200 lb bales. The Vermeer 5'x4' pulls with a 40 HP tractor as the smaller 4'x4' balers do. 5030 had posted a 2002 price on a 4'x4' baler and I compared the current Rebel 5400 price to that. A 554 XL sells for about $1,500 more than a comparably equipped Rebel 5400.

CCI, I noticed from your website that you stock three brands of tedders. I'm interested in your opinon on the relative merits of the brands comparing them to NH, JD, etc. I've got approximately 70 acres hay now plus another 20 next year. Thanks.

They both are good tedders and made by Kuhn. You will find them a bit pricy when you compare them to the Italian brands. The most noted Italian name brands are Sitrex, Tonutti, Rossi, & Galfre' (Walton). Tedders came first from northern Europe. So the Dutch, German and French still make good tedders but the Italians have basically the same technology for less money. I consider 21'+ tedders to be better engineered by the northern European MFG's. The Italian MFG's are best in the 10'-18' range. CCM is developing a 18' hydraulic fold tedder for next season with a target list price of $2,500 or less.

The CCM is a very attractive price. Don't know much about this brand. We're probably going to purchase a 17 to 20' model (4 rotor I think). We're borrowing a neighbor's 2 rotor 9' (or so) now. Spring lift is OK but the hydraulic lift is probably handier. Are the gear boxes well built on the CCM? This is our first year with my fields and we have quite a bit of work to relevel them this winter due to old holes, discing ridges, etc. Thanks again

Hey JTD,

If you want one to last buy the Kuhn!! When it comes to rotary rakes and tedders there is Kuhn, and then the others!! That's why the majors use badge-engineered Kuhns.

So if there is only $1500 difference in price between the two,why not go with the XL over the Rebel? Please come up with some substanial answers the first time around,eh CCI!!
