I refer a shorter spear so you can begin your turn sooner when backing away. Depends on where you stack, I guess. I stack a few thousand in the barn and have to turn to back down the aisle after each. Other than when I fill the aisle itself.

It's time to get serious about what to get. I can buy a brand new 3pt hay spear from Atwoods for $170 and a quick attach plate on Amazon for $140 and weld them together. I've been offered a used 3pt hay spear for whatever I'm comfortable offering for it from a friend on here, but that still means cutting and welding. While I'm comfortable doing that, I've been trying to find one brand new for $300 that is ready to go.

Titan Distributors came up on my searches with a good selection of hay spears and free shipping. I've seen them mentioned on this thread, which makes me think they must be alright. Does anybody have any personal experience buying from them?

My bigger question is one spear with two stabilizers or two big spears?

^^^^ I think you will be happy with your purchase. Titandistributors seems to have a few quality control issues but nothing one can't fix in short order. I plan on buying ~$1K of items from them shortly.
