HC60 mulch kit - Am I missing a plate?

Hi guys -- I have HC60 mower deck on a JD x729, and I am trying to figure out if I lost a discharge plate on either the HC60 or the mulch control kit. I can't determine what part I may be missing but see a fairly large gap (which doesn't seem like it should be there) as well as that bolt-hole .. Any thoughts appreciated!!

I think the hole might be fore a power flo bracket. My HC54 had a flat plate all the way across the exit on the mulch kit. not sure why they would have used curved plates on the HC60

In general, if I'm trying to see what parts should be on my machine, the first place I go to check is the manufacturer's web site parts search. Many times they have exploded diagrams showing all the parts. John Deere is especially good about this, so you might try searching for this diagram on their web site.

Different machine but the mulch kit on my JD 2025r blocks off a lot more complete than your picture shows. It almost looks like a homemade block off plate.

Somehow I have bent the stationary deflector that it attaches to, so maybe it's more bent than I realize and is throwing it all off. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't another piece in there that I've lost.

The parts are bent. I get zero blow by on mine. The baffle plate should be tight against the deck. Then the gate should be tight against the baffle.

Oh you have the mulch on demand. my comment was based on the mulch kit I had on my HC54 which was always mulching unless you took the kit off.
