I've been out of the pickup buying mode since 1999. :D How much difference are we talking about for reasonably equipped F150 vs F350 trucks?

For an XLT with the options I want, a gas F250 or F350 costs less than an F150 HD. The diesel on the F350 bumps you to $5.5K over the F150HD on MSRP but probably 8K over on actual price after incentives and tax.

MSRP ~$50.5K 2018 F150 XLT HD payload (max tow and FX4 come with) and tow mirrors and cheapest package with power drivers seat.
MSPR ~$56K F350 XLT (2017 with diesel because I can still order this for about a week and a half) and cheapest package with power drivers seat.
MSRR ~$46K F250 XLT gas (2017) and cheapest package with power drivers seat.

What is the difference in MSRP, MSPR, and MSRR? Typos or am I not aware of something?

Ha! You're just messing with me. Yes, they are typos!

Glade, not sure up in Pa, but down here in Tx where they sell more trucks than cars every year, there is a LOT of competition among dealers and buying at Invoice or very near is the norm. Ford also have various incentives and various times, mine added up to $2250 bucks BELOW Invoice. And my dealer does not sell addons to bump it back up, like wax jobs, hand jobs, lifetime steering wheel protection etc.

After next week and you cannot order one and it appears you are looking at the XLT level of trim, then your best bet IMO is search on the internet or to call LARGE dealer with fleet sales depts. Left over trucks in Fleet get discounted real fast, real deep and a bigger dealer will have a bigger supply on hand.

There were certainly a number of people who reported poor MPG with the early ecoboost engines. But if you go by averages at Fuelly.com most ecoboost owners are doing considerably better on MPG than most 3/4 ton gas owners. The gas to diesel comparison isn't really fair. My 1999 F250 diesel got better fuel mileage than my v6 Explorer did!
With the "EcoBoost" (I have one in my hearse, er, Ford Flex), you can have either "Eco" or "Boost", but not both at the same time. Those who say that the mileage is poor, but gosh, it has power, are in the throttle a bit too much! The torque down low is impressive and fun, to be sure.

Geez, I'm gonna be in Texas in October, might as well trade my truck in there. Gonna miss that dealer hand job, though....

TX does look like a great place to buy a truck! It's easy to get invoice in PA too. If you walk in and ask for their best price most go straight to invoice - incentives as the first offer.

I'm going to look at a 2017 F350 XLT Diesel today with some extras, MSRP is $58,055. Their first offer was $51,718.

Some dealers have offered below invoice - incentives. I think I'm looking for that truly desperate dealer who just doesn't want to hold the truck on the lot anymore. How much below invoice - incentives do you think I can push it?

the truck I'm looking at today has almost 500 miles on it. To me, that's getting into demo territory so I'm wondering if I can push them on that. At what mileage does a truck become a demo?
