Don't forget to take it with you when on the road.

Was not pleased to google Powergear slide in my new rv and find out it is a subsidiary company of Lippert, the same company that failed
the last time. But apparently a different style mechanism, more than just a label change.
But best of all, they have a youtube video of how to synch the left
and right slide motors, just by rocking the switch back and forth a certain way. That's always an issue, those mechanisms lose motor synchronization and a jam promptly occurs. Full solution in a 50 second video. Amazing. If true.
Another video showed how the switch works differently, instead of getting to the end and wondering what noise to listen to or gear that goes rat tat tat while you hold down the button, now it just turns itself off in silence when it senses too high a current drain. One way to skin the cat. Like a garage door, probably a good safety issue anyway, instead of a slip clutch that burns up or snaps.
They put in a 1500 dollar radio in this rig, nice quality component plus there is a second basic unit in the salon with
a real CD player in it. Those are becoming extinct. As am I...

So I'm hoping they spec'd Lippert's "upmarket" or heavier duty model since it's a full wall slide so lot of weight on it.
They seem adamant about having truck engine running, keeps the batteries juiced up as I bet those motors
can suck some amps and apparently don't tolerate lower voltage well.
Of course in the real world your engine was already running when you came in and on going out, it needs to warm up a little anyway.
So I have to remember to start the truck engine before pulling in the slide. Same rule from memory on my other motorhome.
