quiet morning here, still takes some getting used to to see the sun up before 6am. No matter, I'm up anyway.

91 miles south on the Natchez Trace, 35 South to 25 South to campground, should be much easier than yesterday.

Pelahatchie Mississippi

no Ron, just going past Jackson TN and now in an rv park in Pelahatchie to the East of Jackson MS.

Nice drive down, the Parkway was a little busier this morning, but the ride was fine. The Jellystone campground in Pelahatchie MS is very nice, a resort type campground yet very inexpensive. So everything is fine. Not...
I hope it's just this uneven pull thru site but my living room slide will not go out, goes out half an inch then catches on something and won't go out. Maybe just not level enough. I used all four of my leveling boards so I'm out of options. So I'll live with it until the next campground and if still no go, then I either have to find a dealer or wrap this up. Am tired of major mechanical components on a new rv failing.

am going to see if another site might be more level but they all look about the same. Not going to dwell on it for sure. time for a long hot shower and a nap. Then I'll go for a walk down to the lake.

can't keep a good man down. Found a Winnebago dealer in Jackson MS about forty minutes away who was willing and gracious and kind enough to let me come in early Thursday morning on my way to the Gulf Coast, and they will try to get the brain back in the leveling system and in the slide. Which I'm told has two electric motors run by one controller and they get out of synch. Another freakin' computer malfunction. Grrrrr.

However, perhaps on Thursday I will have some solutions. S&S Apache RV in Jackson, 20 service bays, big place.
And now with that resolved, sort of..., I'm going to chill and enjoy my two days here.

Daug, I know S&S well! Back in '78 we bought a great travel trailer from them, Mr. Smith. Wonderful man and business! He might not still be living, but maybe his son or family still runs the place. They can get you fixed up and be fair about it too.

Pelahatchie MS
picture time. This is a very, very pretty campground, designed to acommodate huge numbers of people who thankfully aren't here right now. Dozens of very nice cabins to rent, and a water park/splash place for little kids that looks really cool on a hot summer day.

Rented a golf cart since I decided to not unhook the car here. Didn't see enough interesting in Jackson MS to warrant unhooking it. So the golf cart let me get around the camp ground and tomorrow I will go stake out a spot by the lake and read a book in the sun for an hour. And then likely back to a/c...ya know it's hot down here....:D

renting the golf cart for one day cost more than two days of the rv site, which was admittedly pretty cheap per day and took four pages of paperwork and about a dozen initials. They have gazillions of carts here and it must be a money maker. The one guy I chatted with who went out and picked a new cart for me, which was nice, said that people let their four year old kids drive the things, drive them into the lake, do seriously stupid things with them, so I guess the owner had to get the long form made up.

what a beautiful spot for several of those big rigs parked right next to the Pelahatchie lake. Now if I had a tow bar and could unhook easily, that could be me. And if I had a big diesel pusher, and six pies in the sky...

and finally, a score on some Kubota equipment. They were working on the foundation for a small amphitheatre/stage. (how does one use spell check...about time I learned)
btw, finally got out of exclusive JD country as I got into TN and MS. Saw road crews using Massey Ferguson five series, JD five and six series. Did see a large New Holland dealership with six high horsepower new tractors out front, not the CUTs I've been seeing. And several contractors using/pulling Kubotas. Also saw two large Kubota dealers driving not too far from here. Which probably explains the Kubota equipment here. Have also seen a few Dixie Chopper zero turns in the last few campgrounds.

Tomorrow should be a relaxing day. Not going to worry about things that don't work, though I was humming "busted down in Baton Rouge" earlier....:D

oh, busted up trees courtesy of tornado in 2011, they had a sign put up for it...

Nice pictures Drew. Hope they can get your gremlins chased off. If your browser is Google Chrome, just right click on the red word, and the top option is usually the right spelling. I use it all the time.

OK on the Jackson TN and MS. I am not confused now.
Most common thing that affects auto leveling and slide function. Is battery voltage. Many manufactures recommend that engine be running when attempting to move slides or level motorhome. Not sure what your manufacture requires for these operation. But all of them do not like low voltage when operating. They have a tendency to loose memory settings when operated on low voltage. Good luck with the repairs.

Ron, thanks, that's what Lippert said when I called them, and the engine has always been running, or connected to shore power which also charges the batteries.

about to put some bacon on the stove, and cook some pancakes this morning. Then a quiet day here in this campground, maybe wash the car, get a little sun, read a book, all hard stuff...;) I do have a few bills I couldn't or didn't want to put on auto pay so I need to call up those folks and pay my bills by phone this month and next. And I'm going to start studying what to do in New Orleans for my next stop. Looks like it will storm and pour most of time I'm there, but hey, inside that little bar with the band playing, who cares? My biggest problem is that I'm not a night person so I am not going to see the wee hours in anywhere, so when the bands and bars heat up, I will be fast asleep.

At this next stop I am going out for meals more, want to eat as much seafood as possible before heading further West.
And of course have something to compare when I order the same shrimp in Corpus Christi Tx.

ok,here's the important question for the day. Are crawfish just giant kinda tough shrimp? Are they prepared differently in food?

Larro I use Firefox. I thought tbn would have something built in...? I'll try right clicking and see if it works. Yup, it does, shows alternatives at the top. thanks
