headphones revisited

G'day James! Although I've never used it, there is an Amazon.com.au site here.

I reckon, in this international 'on line' society that we live in, that shipping wouldn't be a problem... in fact, it's probably a given.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that it came with an MP3 cord and it charges via a standard USB (also included) so there's no need for a power adapter; just plug it into a computer or iPod connector. :)

We do an awful lot of business with amazon here.

I don't use them on my tractor, but I do use active noise cancelling headsets in my aircraft. Previously Bose, several iterations, now Sennheiser S1 digital. This headset would not be suitable for tractor use, I only mention it as "background".

Recently a fellow self-launch soaring pilot recommended using Bose Quiet Comfort 20 earbuds. Now these are not bluetooth, but they are amazingly quiet in terms of blocking outside noise. I compared them to the S1 aviation headset in my Mooney, every bit as quiet - really astonishingly quiet (should be for the cost I guess, but everything Bose is pricey).

The ASH26 is so noisy that with most aviation headsets one still cannot hear the radio. There's also almost no room to store a regular headset after launch - typical engine run is maybe 10 minutes then followed by hours of peace and quiet! But that 10 minutes is leaving a sometimes busy airport, so hearing other traffic is important. The Bose QC 20 is excellent! And should work just as well on the tractor if you don't mind earbuds and plugging it into the phone. So quiet you can enjoy music while you work.

LG HBS 900. I use them on the tractor to listen to tunes and when I get a call, they turn the music off and ring. Answering is as easy as touching a button on the set. Less than $100 when I got mine.

I use a handsfree bluetooth headset and I can mow with the ZD21 and talk on the phone at the same time. The one I'm talking to cannot hear the mower running on their end. My son uses the same headset driving a truck and can talk with the window down with no noise on my end. I've tried several brands and the one that WORKS is the Plantronics voyager Legend. You can get one for about $50 off ebay and they are the BEST noise cancelling headsets I've ever used, and you can hear the phone ring even with the tractor running wide open.

Edit:
I think I read your post right, you want to be able to hear the phone ring and talk on the phone without background noise. I think the Bose type is to reduce noise to protect from hearing loss. If I'm correct then the headset in my above post will work for you and the person you're talking to.
