Heated container

If you want fast, simple heat, something easy to work with. I'd would go with a propane wall heater. takes very little space and you probably can run it off a 20lb bbq tank. I have not tried this though, and I am sure there are many dangers with propane, but it can be the simplest thing. Just make sure you have adequate ventilation.

Just be aware of gas fumes from the sleds ! Wouldn't hurt to have the stove up off the floor a bit for that reason, the fumes will stay low. Make sure you have a good fast way out too.

Propane will create moisture.
Wood and other fuels would be drier but with snow on cold metal roof when you start heating you will probably think it is raining inside.
