Contrary to lot's of opinions here.
I put some in my truck yesterday, GMC DuraMax, made it about a mile.

sure it wasn't contaminated, was it kero or fuel oil?

Can only state what I do know ......... and that is a local fella that sells fuel oil says it is the same but with dye ........... and that a local contractor uses it exclusively to fuel his fleet of dozers, backhoes, excavators and everything else that runs on diesel.

And I'm sure they're aware of the contrary regulations.

local guys here fuel their tractors strait out of the FO tanks all year long. Maybe you just got some really bad timing and a clogged fuel filter or something.

My neighbor called the local fuel company that sells diesel and home heating oil. He wanted diesel for his tractors and HHO for his house. Truck pulled in and filled up the house with HHO.. then backed up and filled up his diesel tank with the same stuff. Only difference.. he was charged a 5 cent/gal fuel tax for the fuel that went in the tractor tank!!

In my part of the country it is. We only have 2 suppliers and they do not sell enough HHO so they simply use Off Road Diesel. Both are dyed red around here.

That doesn't add up. There's at least 1/2 gallon of fuel in the pump, filter and lines. For the new fuel to have affected the motor, you'd be getting very poor mileage. (Unless there is a sensor in the fuel pump !!! ???).

Jake, you have to be more specific, what did you do to get the truck running again and what did you find in the fuel filters?

I had a 93 -250 with a 7.3 liter Diesel, Never ran HHO in it but was told by everybody that it would be fine, knew several excavators that did.Was told a few years ago, when looking at a 2006 GMC w/ Duramax, that the engine had some kind of electronic "eye" that would keep it from running correctly on heating oil because of the dye....Supposedly the diesel was clear enough to read "thru", the HHO wasn't. Don't have any further info since then tho. Good luck.
