I'd love to get my hands on some of that stuff!

Tomorrow's the big day - I find out if I got the low mileage standard cab long box, or if I'm a free agent to go after a 454 Suburban that just showed up.

What year is the 454 Suburban?
I bought a 97 K2500 4x4 Suburban with 454 on E-Bay in 2007.
A Texas vehicle, but was in New Mexico. Had 100K, and today (10 years later) has 130K.
An absolutely fantastic utility vehicle. If you get it, you will love it!

I've got a line on a nice really heavy 5th wheel, but I think it'll eat up too much payload to be useful behind a 3/4T. Price is right if the condition is good that I might buy it to flip. The guy also has a 16' SS trailer for reasonable money. I might buy that and stretch it.

There's some other really heavy trailers out in the 5 state area that could be good for more weight than the pickup will pull, but for now I'm only looking for something that'll get the tractor and implements around as needed, and haul some lumber too.

I'll keep ya posted. :)
5th wheel equipment trailers are rare, can you post a picture of it?

I have a 18' deck, 4' dovetail, 14K, steel deck trailer that weighs 5K with 1K on the gooseneck ball.

My 3/4 ton 2006 GMC diesel handles it just fine. Heaviest load was 12,640 on the deck, 3440 on the ball, 14,200 on the axles, for 24,940 GCVW.

This load is only 12,660 on the axles, 2,300 pounds on the ball.

The 3/4T reg cab long box with 70K sold for $7900. Well above my $4200 offer.

The 454 burb is a funny smelling, leaking more than it should for it's mileage, flaky mess under carriage - I didn't even ask to start it or bother popping the hood. :( Probably spent 10 years parked on grass from the looks of the chassis.

The truck search continues.

I mis-spoke when I said 5th wheel - it's a gooseneck flatbed. It's also about an hour and a half away and my plan is to check it out on my way up to my land. It has dualies on tandem axles, so it's probably rated pretty high and also likely weighs a bunch.
