I've pulled my 16' ( 1800lbs ) trailer ( that usually hauls the tractor ) around on the swinging drawbar on my NH 1920. Used it to carry fence lumber, wire, tools and other misc pipes / materials out to the back o fthe pasture to do the lights for my riding arena. Tractor didn't really notice at all.

Thanks for the replies.

I assume that most of you don't use the three point mounted recievers for the really heavy stuff (>3-4 Klbs)?
It seems this could be a problem with flipping over backwards if you have to much tongue weight.

Robert,

You are talking about ....
A) the drawbar that comes with the TN? 2" square solid shaft that pins into the back of the tractor and sticks straight back? Mine has two pins on either side that you can remove to allow it to swing from side to side or put the pins in and it does not move.
I have a two inch ball that I use with that and it works well you just can't raise or lower its height.

B) or are you talking about a 3-point drawbar that mounts in your three point hitch?

Andy,

Great machines! I love it. I think your TN75 is a bit more power, mainly higher flow rate on the hydraulics, otherwise very similar.

I bet that trailer was a load.
Do you have a picture of your setup?
I would think that pintle hitch works well for uneven ground.

No, I was talking about a Category 2 drawbar that hooks to the lift arms. It is just the straight bar with all the draw holes in it. However it is a Cat 2 bar and not a TSC cheapy. I tried to use the tractor mounted drawbar but the jack on the trailer didn't work no more and the trailer couldn't be lowered down that low. I had to use the arms and lift the trailer up. It definitly squatted all 4 tires but the tractor handled it for moving it. I had to pull the trailer up an incline about 20 feet and back down around 60 feet and kept having to do this trying to get it aligned to where we could lay up the wall. I wouldn't try this type of a load going down a steep hill though/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I regularly pull loaded hay wagons with my L3710. Easily a 5000 # tractor and a 5000 - 10,000 pound trailer depending on the # hay bales.

Perfect. This is what I was looking for. I have sent for some of their literature so I can take a look at it closer. This would fit the bill for what I need. Thanks!
