Said he couldn't remember much about the actual happening and probably wouldn't want to say too much as there will be a big accident inquiry. It happened in very popular entertainment area right next to the centre of the city.

Further to The pilot didn't loose his sense of humour. In a press interview later he described the accident as "a Bugger Moment". So you guys can understand what he was talking about here's a link to the Toyota TV commercial that he is referring to:

PS For those of you who condemned the pilot outright without knowing all the facts I hope you find the time over Xmas to cut your fingers off.

I did not see anyone here, "condemn the pilot outright". I saw people trying to understand what happened, by speculating, based on what they saw.

Your comment about hoping people cut off their fingers, is way out of line.
