Hello all, I own about 5 acres with a 2 acre pasture (2 horses) and 2 acres of finished front yard. My little BX has served me well for the past 4 years (auger, pallet forks, FEL, BH, 60inch MMM) but looking to move up in the tractor world. I've pushed my BX to the limit and then some! Hoping to get some good advice from you guys.

BX is about 1,700 pounds, BARE TRACTOR.

You need to increase bare tractor weight by 50% before you will notice a definite improvement in performance. So a Kubota L2501/HST is the next increment heavier.

If the budget is good, especially if you are aging , Kubota Grand Ls are as good as tractors get. I owned two spartan tractors before buying my L3560 at age 67. A Grand L makes operating easier as the years pass.

Thanks Jeff 9366, I actually just bought a Deere 3039R today. 165 loader, 385a backhoe, 72 inch mmm. I looked at specs between Kubota and Deere for the last several weeks and feel the Deere was the best fit. It's more than I need but I hope this will be my last tractor. I took one last look at a L3560 today before committing. It was wider and longer than the Deere, with similar loader capacity and slightly more 3 pt lift. The compact size of the Deere plus the ability to have a mmm sold me. I also need to get into tight spaces. Hope I made the right decision, my 'Bota has been a great machine!
