Welcome to TBN, List what you need to do and that might help with selection.
Moving firewood is very different from mowing or chopping down fields.
Good luck in your search.
Gonna get a loader, forks and a box scraper. Level out my yard, remove shrubs and fencing. Landscape after new fence put in.
Fairly level yard but dragged in a few hundred tons over the years and when house was waterproofed picked up additional soil.
As stated b4 wife wants land and planning for that if it happens.
I’m sure a JD1025e would suffice now…..
But if I find that gold nugget 35hp might not be enough.
Just saying…..

I got by with a 30 HP L2550DT Kubota on 77 acres for years until adding a IH 584 about 10 years ago.. It did a lot of work and continues to do so and shows it. 6700 hours at last check.
There are places for each tractor although probably 90% of my work is still done with the Kubota.
One piece of advice I have is whatever you get, protect it from the elements and follow or exceed the manufacturers maintenance recommendations. Grease is your friend. DO NOT let joints get dry or you will have issues.
If you get 4WD, only use 4WD when necessary to avoid undue wear and stress.
Keep the fuel tank full to avoid condensation in the tank and moisture in the fuel.
Do not test it to see how much it can haul. If you have any thoughts in that direction make two trips.
Where do you live?
Thanks for the advice. North east Ohio

Welcome Schips, what size (HP) are you considering? There are cutoffs for emissions based on hp. I have a L3901 which has a DPF, Diesel Particulate Filter. It’s recommended to run higher rpms to keep exhaust temps. higher, my tractor will go to regen maybe every 50hrs or so, never been an issue, just up the rpms and keep working until regen is complete 15-20 minutes. Maybe a small issue of I were ready to finish work for the day and the regen light comes on.

Thanks for advice, and yes fear of emissions is gone.
YouTube vid showed how easy to do.
So tier 3 tractors 35hp now in the loop.
And now dont need it but in case I do.

Does anyone know if there is a list of WHEN all this pollution stuff started on all or most of the tractor brands? I believe that would be useful.

I like the emissions stuff on my 3 yr old 3039r. I can start it up, attach the RFM without stinking up the shed for half a day.

My 13 yr old 2720 is just the opposite. It will stink up the shed for the whole day if I don't open up the overhead door to air it out.

I have an MX5800 and L6060, both with DPF. No issues whatsoever in 2000+ hours. Regens occur every 40 to 60 hours and most of the time, I don't know it's happening. Personally, I wouldn't let emissions keep me from buying new.

If you don't abuse or store your tractor outdoors, you will likely get what you paid for it in trade. You don't necessarily have to buy your ultimate tractor now if you take good care of the one you have.
