Hello...I'm new here

Just wanted to say Hello and to say thanks for allowing me on your forum. I am semi-retired from teaching and was looking for a hobby to pursue. I ran across two David Bradley walking tractors without engines but otherwise okay shape. I remember these from when I was a kid and a neighbor had one to work his garden. I hope to get one or both of these going to do some playing in the dirt. Also, I have a disc harrow, breaking plow, middle buster, and a blade. They are all in pretty good shape. The first thing I already have no idea about is the type oil one uses in the gearbox. I want to relubricate everything as a first step. Thanks again for including me in your group.

G'day to you vmorton: Let me extend a warm WELCOME ABOARD to you and to say you are most welcome here. In fact, by the sounds of what you say already, I would think this is the perfect place for you to spend some time.

Unfortunately, I personally am not acquainted with your particular tractors, so I will not venture a "guess" at the oil you should use. If you are going to do some restoration, it is important to do it correctly,..... the "first" time.

I have no doubt, someone with expertise will arrive shortly and make the proper suggestions. It is amazing the experts that check in from time to time,...so just be patient. I wish you good luck with your projects.

Great place here to learn about tractors. Not familar with the David Bradleys, but have a Gravely walk behind. They are tough old tractors. Enjoy your new hobby. Next thing you'll have an older Ford or Ferguson or something else you'll be rebuilding.
