good question
Hello there ! I am in the market for a new "glorified" lawn mower that digs holes :D .... I have been lurking here for quite some time and I just now got set up to post so here goes.

The two choices so far that I have narrowed it down to are the Massey GC2310 or the BX24. I have looked at the green machines and I am just not happy with their LBH add on version. So again... I am down to the Massey's and the BX. I do not want this post to become a whored up post over colors or what fenders are made of. I would like to hear real world comparisons from preferably people that have used like machines and their opinions. If you are a Massey guy or a Kubota guy... let me know what it is that you DO and DONT like about your current machines. Please keep this sane, this is an important decision and I only want to buy one once. As far as the dealers go... it is a wash. Both are great. The Massey dealer in my opinion is a little better but the Kubota dealer is good and they are about 20 miles closer. Thanks in advance guys! There are certainly some knowledgable people on this board and I greatly appreciate your input.... Or if I am even missing a manufacturer with a similar sized LBH, I am open for more suggestions but I fell like I have looked at them all.

Question for you, which one fit you best in the test drive?
That'll be what it'll eventually come down to. You can't go wrong with either.

The Massey felt better, and there are certain things I like about the Massey better but it was more money too. The Kubota was great little unit though... that is why I am on here :)

See if Massey will match Kubota price

I can not speak for the Massey I have never seen one. But My BX 22 has been a great machine. I have about 590 hours on it over three years, Have used it for far heavier work than it was designed for dug over a 1000ft of trench and have never put a wrench on it except for normal maintenance. Ohh well the stpuid air filter bracket that breaks on all of them.

Flattop, I just went through the process last fall, the only difference is I do not have the backhoe. I looked at three, NHTZ25DA, Kubota BX2350 and Agco ST22a(this is the sister machine to the MF GC2300). I ended up with the AGCO largely on price and it uses a larger engine at lower rpms to generate it's HP and I seem to think that is good for engine life. I do not know about backhoe, I do not have it and I don't think it is available in the AGCO.

My package inluded. tractor,FEL,60"mmm,60" rear snowblower, rear remotes, block heater, bucket hooks/rear work lights and turf tires. The difference in price was $3,000 from the lowest priced of the others I looked at. Thats seems like a lot of difference I don't know why.

What I do not like about it is the hydrostat foot pedal seems a bit clumbsy, the instrumentation does not light up so I cannot read my tack anf fuel gauge at night during snow blowing. other than that the tractor has lots of power, good size platform, good visibility when the FEL is removed and does everything I have put to it so far and I love it. Dealers for me did not matter as I have them all(AGCO,MF,JD,Kubota,Case,NH) near by and I know people at all of them so that was no issue for me.

At the end of the day it will be your gut feeling that will direct you but I know you will enjoy what ever you buy.

Good Luck!:)
Jim

Looked at both, ended up with BX23 about 18 months ago. Have about 260 hrs. with no problems. Made decision on dealer support and price. Both dealers approx. 45 miles away but kubota dealer has a mechanic in my town. I call the dealer for service, set a day and leave the key in the tractor. He comes by takes care of the service and they send me a bill in the mail. Have not had any problems. (Not even air filter bracket)
I have a harrow disc, back blade, box blade and American Solutions grapple. Don't know what I would do without it.

Not sure if I remember this correctly, but doesn't the Massey carry a 2 yr warranty while the Kubota is 3yrs? Something else to consider.

I didn't do any research (other than price), just wanted a name-brand tractor. BX was cheapest. Bought it just after walking in the dealer's door. He sold MF too but said it was more $.
One out of 10 tasks, I wish it had more lifting power but it has always done everything I have had to do and in decent time.

Have you looked at the New Hollands? I really liked the easy to see over hoods.
