With these units I am not really worried about not having enough tractor. Even after I get the other 7 acres, I am going to have roughly a 2 acre pond and I will only clear about another 1.5-2 acres to turn into lawn. The pond will no doubt be dug by larger machinery... So I have no intentions of using it for that. The backhoe I want for putting in some drainage tile and lines, plus running electrical lines to my yard barn and doing landscaping. Realistically, once that gets done, I will probably sell the BH.... Which by the way is one of the pluses about the Kubota because i do think that if I did go to sell an implement that it would sell quicker......

I do not know about the BH on the GC2310 but unfortunately the OEM BH that comes on the Kubota BX22/23/24 models will not bolt on to the non-TLB BX's. The subframe on the BX TLB's is completely different than what comes on the non-tlb BX's and it completely replaces some of the std frame parts. You can't remove the subframe without replaceing it with a non-TLB subframe.
Kubota in it's infinite wisdom doesn't offer an OEM BH option for the std non-TLB BX's nor does it offer a retrofit kit either. Hense you would only be able to sell the BH to a BX TLB and since a BX TLB CANNOT be purchased w/o a BH, you'll probably have a very hard time finding a buyer for the BX BH.

Woods on the other hand does make a high quality BH and subframe kit for the non-TLB BX's and in some cases a std BX2350 w/a Woods BH & FEL pkg will price out about the same as the OEM BX TLB. The BX2350 is the same basic tractor as the BX24, same basic frame, engine, HST, tins, wheels etc.
The BX2230 is the same basic tractor as the BX23 and the BX2200 is the same basic machine as the BX22.

I would suggest that a BH has quite a bit more usefulness than just digging. Add a hook to the bucket and it's an articulated cherry picker/hoist. Add a thumb and you can grasp heavy ackward loads, carry and deposit them where ever you want without ever leaving the seat (or breaking a sweat).
My BH is dismounted the vast majority of time but when it's needed it only takes a couple minutes to mount and it saves my back every time.

If Massey offers a BH retrofit kit for the GC2300 then that would be a plus for MF.
The JD folks are claiming that the new BH for the 2305 is backwards capatable to the 2210 so it may be an option also, albeit a more expensive option but an option all the same.

In any case, good luck and enjoy.

If anyone wanted to add some other specs that they thought relevant I would be more than happy to add that onto the spreadsheet. Also if anyone could fill in any of the empty spots I would appreciate it. I may actually start a new thread with that spreadsheet if anyone else thinks that's a good idea. I think I would name the thread the "BX24 vs. MF 2310 vs. JD 2305...really the last comparison, I swear!"
I would like to see electrical inof included. Battery CCA, alternator output, etc. I have only found the info for the Deere 2305 so far.

I added the spaces and categories that I could find. Can't find anything on the MF electrical system though. Hopefully some other owners can help fill in the spaces. I think this would really help other newbies out there.

I did some other things to make it a little bit easier to read also.

The Massey GC has a 40 amp alternator, 12v, 390 CCA, 1.0 kW starter. The operating range is 950-3050 rpm. Reverse speed is 0 - 6.7 mph. I have the TLBs weight listed as 2755 lb. Loader raise/lower time is 2.9 / 2.9 sec.

Are you sure about the kW of the starter on JD? 1.6 kW is pretty big for that small of an engine.

Thanks for the info JerryG. The alternator info is helpful to those who know they will want to add more lighting. I'm going to guess the Massey is going to be tops with the 40 amp unit.

I believe the BX24 also comes std with a 40 amp alternator.

The alternator upgrade kit for the older BX's is also 40 amps.

Well then that evens up the BX and the Massey in that category. I knew the bx_23 had a standard 15 amp dynamo, so that an improvment on the 24. I believe I have seen 20 amps for the alternator on the JD, but will not swear to it.

Come on guys I still have a couple of empty categories :D :D . Thanks for all of the input so far. Just a note for the JD 2305 the listing for the starter was in hp (1.6) not in kw (1.2). It has been amended. Also TLB weight for the MF has been changed to 2755. I got the 2600 out of the brochure, don't know how recent the brochure was. So here it is the new, improved spreadsheet for comparative tractor analysis for indecisive tractor buyers of subcompact tractors. We'll just call it CTAITBST for short, OK?

Archery.... great job on the spread sheet!

On second note.. a good friend of mine just brought home a NH TZ 25 hp... awesome little tractor! Unfortunately... no factory BH.
