I have looked at the NH's and I do really like the TZ25 .... unfortunately the do not offer a BH for that tractor. I know I could probably get an aftermarket hoe, modify the seat ect... but I dont want to do that and the next version they have is the TC which is one size bigger then I truely want to get. plus I dont think the TC has a fldable ROPs system which would be yet one more thing to modify,... Other then that I really liked the NH tractors and if the TZ25 had a descent hoe.... I would be on it....

As of late I am still torn betwnn the BXand the MF. I actaully like the fit and the handling characteristics if the MF a little more plus I think it is a little more tractor but I do like the looks of the BX ALOT and it is not far behind the MF and it IS cheaper........

When I was looking the dealer had the BX23 and the New Holland TC24DA. At first I was going for the BX23 but when I compared it to the TC 24DA I felt like It was a nicer machine. The BX was lower to the ground and I liked the ground clearance of the New Holland. I ended up getting the New Holland. The BX was more like a lawn tractor than a tractor tractor to me. They do have a BH as an option even though I did not get it. Instead I did get a Kubota K003 excavator. The current replacement for the TC24DA model is the TC26DA. I Thought the TC24DA was going to be my tractor for life and now I have it's big brother the TC40DA. Welcome to the wonderful world of tractors. There are no bad choices. Have fun.:)

Doub1egun,
I don't know how many Massey dealers you have in your area, but there are some that will normally price the GC for a little less than the BX. If there's more than one dealer check them out.
If you will fill out your profile it will be beneficial to helping answer any questions that you might have as well as suggesting which local dealer might work with you better.

BTW, Welcome to TBN.

I am in the same kind of boat as you as far as decision between the Bx24/ MF 2310/ JD 2305. Just to make things slightly more confusing I did a little spreadsheet to help myself comparing the models. I deleted the prices so you can fill in your own. Any spots that were left blank were b/c I couldn't find the appropriate stats. Tell me what you think. I had to convert it to a word doc to upload so I don;t know how it will turn out.

Very nice work archerynut. A book or file on TBN full of these would be very valuable for everyone. Thanks for your effort, Tim

If anyone wanted to add some other specs that they thought relevant I would be more than happy to add that onto the spreadsheet. Also if anyone could fill in any of the empty spots I would appreciate it. I may actually start a new thread with that spreadsheet if anyone else thinks that's a good idea. I think I would name the thread the "BX24 vs. MF 2310 vs. JD 2305...really the last comparison, I swear!"

Archery....... I think your spreadsheet is great idea and I would think it would be a great idea to have a "specs forum or make it a sticky thread in a forum. After reading that, I am still leaning a little towards the Massey. The ground clearance is probably the least liked issue that I have with the unit but for my property and usage I dont think it would be an issue. I am still all ears though and following this thread. Thanks again for everybodies input.

Jerry... I am filling it out now. When I first signed up it took aboout 3-4 days to get authorized to post and I completely spaced it out.

I have the GC2300 (2310 minus the hoe) and I love it. The only thing that has bothered me is that my model doesn't have a tach. I have run it out of power a few times but I was asking it to do WAY more than it was designed to do. I expected it to have more traction problems, but in MC soil, it has great traction even with the turfs. I run a 48" tiller behind it and feel it could have run a 54-60" without difficulty. (have run a 60 inch before) Also pull a 48" boxblade and 60 inch kioti aerator without difficulty.

I looked at all the tractors in this class when I bought the GC and found that the GC was the right price and met my needs. Less money than kubota here in NC. The TC24DA mentioned above is more tractor- I believe is actually in the compact tractor class. (I'm glad it felt like more tractor since it actually is)

I have never had any issues with the foot pedal- just seemed intuitive to me. I actually don't like my father's dual pedels on his 2210.

I occasionally pass an older gentleman operating his GC2310 and like me, he normally has the FEL & BH dismounted and he's mowing. He always has a big ole smile on his mug when we wave in passing.
Course I doubt his smile is any bigger than mine when I'm operating my BX23 but the bottom line is we both must enjoy our machines :D :D

I normally go with my 1st impression and that has served me well but strangely enough I didn't when I was tractor tradeing and I still made out great, go figure :D

I would suggest you also look at TYM T233 if there is a dealer nearby. About the same maneuverability, but with better digging capabilities. Of course, I believe it will cost more too. Don't buy too small and regret it later.
