Hello to all - it's been awhile! Need some simple info on a JD 2150

After a recent addition to some land I bought, the former owner left a JD 2150 tractor there and basically said "it's yours". I spent a few hundred bucks and had a tractor mechanic bring it up to snuff. As stupid as it sounds, I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO RAISE THE "HOOD" ON THIS SUCKER! I thought I was an absolute moron until I asked my neighbor, who is much more tractor savvy than I. He has helped me keep the battery charged and other minor support for the tractor, but his answer was, heck if I know, when I asked him how to do it!

So quickly - what's the secret? Are there bolts that clamp it down? I live 110 miles from its location so I can't run out to the barn and look at anything.

All I need to know is how to raise the cowling (hood) or whatever. I dang sure am not going to try to "fix" anything when I can't even open the hood! LOL

If this is the tractor referred to the hood may not lift.

Access to the engine by removing the side screens (named grille).

Not exactly. Each side of engine is easy to access if tractor has no FEL. Removing side screens on a JD 2150 will access frt hood retainers,front of radiator,hyd oil cooler,rear of fuel tank & front hyd pump where destroking screw would be located.

I do sincerely thank you guys for the responses. However, am I being overly critical and saying that building a tractor that you have to remove bolts to access under the "hood" is very impractical?

Since I basically got the tractor for free (I have a 1999 New Holland 1925 here on my land), I shouldn't complain, huh? It's just when you're used to one latch to lift the entire hood, this JD is a P.I.A.!
