hey folks been following this site for a few weeks (looking at new Kabota) and want to say thanks for all the info I have found here..... I am looking to buy a new L4400 fel,backhoe,and several attachments.I have been seriously thinking on the hydro top link ( I feel the top and tilt is more than I will need as well as more than I want to pay) but wanted to clear up something before moving forward. Not that I am cheap (but I am) Since I am getting the backhoe will I still need the get a rear remote Hydraulics port for the top link or can I use the backhoe port since it will be off anyway???? Kinda confused about this .If I can what wles will I need to buy I am thinking a valve of some sort and a cyl. for the top link.

You might want to post this question in the Hydraulics section of TBN. There are experts there that will give you excellent guidance.
From a "non-expert", my understanding is that the backhoe needs a direct hydraulic link to the pump to operate the functions. A "Top" of a "Top and Tilt" needs lever installed by the seat to actuate the "Top" cylinder.
Also, check out the capacity of the pump and backhoe to find out if it will be strong enough for your needs. A slap-on backhoe is notoriously weak. Something built as a TLB will give you much more power and the newer backhoes can be easily connected/disconnected for using the 3 point hitch. Some of them even have two hydraulic pumps.
One last thing. Make sure the "Top" extends far enough to hook up your equipment and, if necessary, tilt the equipment down far enough for use. Putting a Quick Hitch on the 3 point will move the implement back far enough that some "Top" cylinders won't reach the lift pin hole.

Not sure I can explain this in a couple sentences...... but, in theory, yes you can just plug a valve into your power beyond connection at the rear of your tractor to run an aux. valve to control your hyd. top link. But..... why would you want to? Its not difficult nor much more money to do it right and plumb all hydraulics the proper way. No need to have hoses hanging in the breeze collecting dust when your backhoe is on.

Following on Ductape's post...The hydraulic feed to the Backhoe is just that...a feed. There are no valves associated with it. The valves are contained within the Backhoe. To use the backhoe hydraulic feed for a hydraulic toplink or any other implement, you would need a valve, which is a great deal of the cost of a seperate rear remote. So, like Ductape says, it isn't much more money to do it right...a seperate rear remote.
