HELP! 2007 Dodge 2500 4low works, but no 4hi

It sounds like the shift solenoid is out of whack or the shift fork.

that's one thig I was thinking.. solenoid.. it's what was sticking on my gmc..

try driving backwards, then forewards and then shift to N and then try to engage it.

had to do that once onmy yukon that has the shifter button on the dash.. hadn't used 4wd in a while and it got sticky.

I like my dodge 1500 with shifter on the floor.. no doubts about when / if it shifts

I have tried it everyway possible. I hear the xfer case making the noise like it does when it shifts but still nothing. I don't know if that is good or bad.
I guess next I will change the fluid (needs doing anyway) and check for metal.

It would actually be the powertrain warranty. He said he was out of warranty so I am guessing he has lots of miles.

my 07 Dakota has a lifetime power train warranty he might want to check on that!! Not sure on the "real" trucks!

My truck has 78,000 miles. The person I talked to at the local dealer said that all I left under warranty was the engine itself.

I would look into that. I though that era of Dodge had 10/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

My 03 had a 6/60,000 mile I think and I got a tranny replace at nearly 40,000 miles.

Where is Dmace when we need him?
