Ok, this is what I mean about Florida John Deere Dealers. I called and said I was serious about buying and got some quotes today.

$4,384.00 JD 460 Loader, 73 inch bucket

It gets worse, another dealer gave me these quotes:

I'm sure there are better dealers to buy from, these guys would be fine for repairs.

Any tips on what these units should go for and places to buy them?

Thanks,

If I were buying I would buy Tractor and loader to match another words JD tractor =JD loader, Massey tractor = Massey loader etc. you get the point . Dont let them force JD mowers or blades on you . You could get a 5ft Woods brush bull for that money on the MX 6 I know it is smaller but you will never wear it out with a 4510 JD. I guess what Im trying to say is package deals are good but you can get other brand mowers blades etc that are usually better built and many times cheaper.

Dave,

Go to www.johndeere.com and go to the build and price section. Build out your tractor to get the list price. You should at least be able to get 15% off of list and I'd try for more. I usually get 23% off of list.

The biggest mistake that I see is that just because a certain brand is the most sold-or has good dealers in your area it is automaticaly deemed to be the best everywhere. I find this is not true! Deere is not #1 when it comes to brand name sales for ag-tractors on a world wide basis. In fact they are a distant 3rd. There are plenty of farmers even in North America who do not have another job to fall back on that do not farm with green, and they propsper.

Get prices and ask around about dealer support. I could not find a good dealer that had good prices in my area. That's why I ended up going with dancce from here as he seemed to be helpfull to others even if they didn't buy from him. I got sent home with a 45hp CUT with FEL, 6' rottory cutter and a 6' Woods tiller on new trailer for a dang good price. I feel that he will do everything he can to help me if a problem does come up. So after the dust settles and you find a tractor you like from a dealer that will supporrt you but it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
