Alan,
It is obvious to me that you have never seen a DK series Kioti if you believe Kubota is more modern.

When giving advice to a new buyer it helps if you have at least some idea of what you are talking about.

Point taken all you Kioti guys. I thought I qualified my comments as to my lack of real knowledge on the Kioti, as well as the fact that waiting 20 years for your resale reward is not meaningful. I guess I must assume that when you post on the Kioti board about buying a tractor your mind is already made up. Knock yourselves out!!

Alan,
It is not just Kioti I am defending here.
I believe before some one makes comments(good or bad) about another tractor brand they should a least bother to look at one first !!!

I'm sure we all know what would happen if someone went to the Kubota site stating that brand X is supior to and more advanced than Kubota.
But then admitting he has no knowlegde of Kubota or ever seen one.

Take that $5000 and buy equipment with it.

Alan. check out the Parts and Repairs Forum! It's loaded with Kubota. Hard to find anything there about Kioti. Maybe the Kioti's are out working without problems. Could that be the case? You do need to take a look at the DK's. They are nice equipment!

Hoosier,

Thought I would add my 2 cents worth, since that is all I have left after purchasing a new tractor a couple of months ago. My final choices came down to Kioti and Kubota also. Was doing my best to compare apples to apples (BTW the M4900 is a bigger tractor than the DK45 thus more money). My final choices were Kioti DK 50, Kubota M4900 and Kubota MX5000.

All three were somewhat similar in features, HP ect, drove about the same and found a great Kioti dealer and Kubota dealer. Well that leaves price and that is where I was really surprised when I first read this thread..Yup you got it the Kubota MX 5000 was 1500 dollars cheaper than the DK 50 and the M4900. So I am not really sure where this idea that Kioti's are cheaper than Kubota's came from. My advice is check several dealers, it does make a big difference.

I am sure the DK 50 would have been a great tractor just could not see spending the extra 1500. Have fun shopping around but when it comes to pricing be sure to compare apples to apples.

Buck85,
That is more like it.
At least you disagree with us with facts.Im glad you found a good deal!!
It's the one's who continually SLAM Kioti when they have NO knowledge or data to prove it that BURNS MY BUTT !!

Buck,I'm glad you are happy with your new tractor purchase, that's the way it's supposed to work.
I don't know if it's really apples to apples though.
Were all tractors 4wd?
Also the Kubota has a partially synchronized transmission,no syncro on the shuttle,Kioti has full syncro on transmission and reverser.
Also your 50hp Kubota is 300 pounds lighter than my 41hp Kioti which seems strange.
Price is important, but so are spec sheets,I fell in love with the first compact I looked at,a JD 990,but then I learned about looking at the specs too and I'm not trying to say that you did'nt.
Kubota never gave their stuff away,if it's cheaper it's because they took some things out,if they happen to be the things that you do not need then you got a great deal.....Mike

Everything I have posted on here is information I have heard and pass on for the benefit of the board. I've been on this board for 3.5 years and don't waste my time putting up information known to be false. I don't appreciate being called a liar, and I won't forget. I would advise anyone to check out the information I have furnished for yourself, and draw your own conclusions.

The warranty information is readily available on both manufacturer's sites, as is number of dealers, parts availability information, etc. I would advise any potential buyer to make comparisons for themselves, as the information I post in this particular section carries little weight, apparently.

If you don't want the opinion of a Kubota owner, don't ask.
