Hi folks. The manual says to clean the screen with a mild solvent. How about a suggestion as to a "mild solvent". I've got the whole contraption in the sink and wondering what to use? BTW, the screen was fun to get out!

Thanks,

Kurt

Hey there...I would use paint thinner or kerosene. I would consider both to be mild solvents. Stay away from lacquer thinner or other organic solvents like acetone, etc.

Tonej,

Thanks, I was kind of at a standstill. I really appreciate the help! Btw, here is a picture of the metal dust and shavings that came off of the magnets (there were 4 inside the screen that the manual didnt mention were there). Sorry, not very glamerous, but you can see my reflection /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Kurt,

I'm glad I had my dealer do this servicing, however, I will be doing this in the future and I thank you for your trailblazing! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Tony,

Mission accomplished. Thanks!

JDFanatic,

Everything is pretty easy except for the strainer/screen deal. After looking at it for a little while, I realized the instructions in the manual were never going to work for me. I disconnected the tube at the other end, inside the left rear wheel in order to get it off. Not too bad after that. You have to be careful to make sure the pipe at the top goes in square and tighten the three bolts evenly my alternating, like you would a wheel on a car. I'm sure people who have dont this more than once would have better tricks than I can provide. I would do it myself again, since I like this kind of stuff /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

regards,

Kurt
