HELP !!!!! Major Problems with Kioti DK45S

Terry - first off thanks for informing us of a potentially dangerous situation. We are all happy that no one was seriously injured. We also appreciate that you are sharing information as to the cause and possible correction to the problem. I hope you will continue to do so.

I realize you are a newbie to the site. Look around, read a few of the forums. For the most part, people are friendly and love to share advise. There's a lot of brand loyalty and sibling rivalry too. A lot of good hearted ribbing to boot. At times, it can get nasty and the moderators have to step in. Hopefully it won't get to that point here.

Rick Wallace is a great guy & dealer and has helped a lot of people on this forum. He has many friends and supporters.

My two cents is a request that you cool down and please stop typing in CAPS - that's like shouting. We're all friends here - right?

Finally, although it's a rough intro, welcome to TBN

Well said......... going after Rick Wallace will not gain any support on this forum. He and Amy have always gone above and beyond to assist their customers and others as well. We all can see that you're upset, but let's ease up a bit.

Yes, Please lets keep it civil, we already lost a good number of members over the course of time to petty quibbling. One of them being KiotiJohn (a good spokesman for Kioti). If someone gets offensive let the moderators take care of it, if you take offense to something someone says let them (the moderators) know via a PM and try to settle it that way. Squabbling settles nothing in my view, it only adds fuel to an existing fire which I would rather not get out of control. This, in my opinion is too valuable a resource to lose with all of the knowledgeable people that we have accumulated . I too have great interest in this problem albeit isolated (so far) as I own a CK30HST.

I see both Hendersoncm's and Wallace's concern. In all likelihood a mechanical failure occurred at a critical moment and endangered Hendersoncm's employee/friend/coworker. Something I would be upset about. Then it appeared he was not taken seriously on this board. Add fuel to the fire.

On the other hand Kioti is the new kid on the block and is an easy target. Specially for trolls. If I felt as strongly about my product and the lively hood of my employees/friends/family as Wallace does my bsmeter would have been twitching considering the way the problem was presented in the first post. I like the fact that Wallace calls bs when he perceives it.

As to the other posts lighten up. It is impossible to foresee all possible dangers in a given situation. We minimize the dangers and operate as safe as we can but tractors are dangerous machines and should be treated as such. If there is an unforeseen mechanical failure it is easy to see how things can go south no matter how safe you are and how much experience you have.

I for one am glad Hendersoncm posted his problem. It made me review my emergency shutoff option and why I would need it. And Wallace. Love ya man! Glad your around. Part of the problem here is the medium. Not everybody is an expert blogger and can paint the picture to everybody's satisfaction. If Hendersoncm and Wallace had met in person they would have worked out any issues in a minute or two with some question and answers. They are both after the same thing. The safe use of Kioti tractors.

Just a little information out there regarding my husband WALLACE, he has total respect for machinery. Back in June, 1987 when he has younger Rick was run over by an old AC Industrial machine. That would not have been so bad just running over him, but the front bucket got stuck in a ditch and the back tire just keep spinning & spinning on him. He had his pelvis broken in 5 places, crushed both his knees and the doctors told him that he would never walk again. He was in the hospital for 6 months & left the hospital in a wheelchair & went right to therapy where he did that for 9 months to learn how to walk again. Looking at Rick you would never know this by seeing him today. I am not telling you this to feel sorry for him, but in the other sense for you to understand his sincere concerns when issues like this happen.

Rick has not gotten to where is in life by letting people tell him he failed. He is not on TBN just to hear himself speak, but to help people in anyway he can. He is just trying to understand the problem with the machine & how to possibly fix it or prevent it from happening to someone else. Again the old saying goes, know your facts before opening your mouth (especially about Rick). You do not how much Rick & I appreciate all the nice & encouraging things you folks at TBN say about us.

Bought our Kioti DK45s from Rick & Amy Wallace and cannot say enough kind words about the both of them Honest, straight forward people and wish the world had more like them. Our DK 45s had a similar injector problem last year but was promptly repaired by Kioti after I contacted Rick. IMO, the manual override is much preferred over the auto shutoff that didn't work in my case either. Only had about 20 hours on the tractor when the injector stuck wide open. Pinching the diesel fuel line was the only shutoff that worked to bring the motor to a complete stop.

Thats the buggeroo about email and text mesages. There ought be sensitivity training in order to send such. Things like prefacing what you say, pre reading to see how it sounds or would sound to another would make the world a better place. Typing in bold caps type is akin to shouting/ yelling and is generally accepted as such. In addition there is no benefit of hearing the senders tone or seeing body language as one would in person.

Even with this in mind I can not post my opinion on an oils forum (here and elsewhere) without finding a defensive, argumentative lugnut in the group. So I don't. You'd think a career mechanic would have something pertinent and some relative observations to add...
Sometimes we have to just suck it in and move on.

Good thinking!! I can tell you have your head screwed on straight. I would have wasted time tearing off my t-shirt and plugging up the intake snorkel to the air filter. Yet another use for that pair of plyers in (and which fills) the tool box behind the seat.

Good on you all for sticking up for Rick Wallace!!! I've been reading posts for twelve months or more and notice that his threads are helpful to you all and hence why I decided to try to offer my advice and experience without having to let emotion take over.
Amy Wallace, Stand by your man!!! Well done!!!
Hendersoncm, as I mentioned in my post earlier, I do not doubt for one minute that you or your operator and the people who were around the tractor at the time got one %^#$ of a fright and no one should at all be-little that!!! The only thing that I can offer you is that when you title your thread, please use something a little less emotive and then the threads probably may have been a little more accepting. I must admit that I did sit back for a while before adding my 2c worth.
Please now, keep everyone posted on what the outcome is regarding the fix so that if any more failures like this occur, they will end up on TBN.
