Goats truly are the way for clearing out kudzu, ivy, blackberry, privet........on and on.........

MOST folks think that they can eat anything thanks to cartoons with them eating cans and stuff; but they are actually pretty sensitive to LOTS of stuff..............and yes, the parasites that infest them and hoof rot is hard to deal with..............well worth though; of going to the auction and pickin up a couple for less than $50 and letting them do their thing for a summer.........Good luck.........Dennis

1)with a tractor of course... I got acres of poison oak. What are the best methods removing poison oak?

2) Some are the size of small trees and some wrap around big tree that I don't want to destroy.

1) The goats will take care of it like others have said.....They will clean it up & ask for more.....You could put up an electric fence to keep the goats in, I had goats before & only had one wire ran in some places & they stay away from it.....But with all the "poison oak" they will be busy and should stay in that area.

2) You can take an axe and cut the ones that are going up the trees....and those will start to die off by the next day.

You need to be careful & not get any in your eyes or mouth...I have seen that happen to people before and it can really do some damage.

Wilted wild cherry leaves will kill a goat, pony, horse and cattle.

Rhubarb leaves are poisonous to humans & animals....We have a rhubarb plant in our garden & when we cut the stalks off i burn the leaves.

I use field fencing for my sheep because they'll go right through the electric fence without thinking about it.

You can also get some harnesses for them, a 10-15' length of chain (not rope or cable - gets tangled too easily), some swivel clips, and a 150 lb dog tie out stake. This is what I use to have them "mow" my lawn.

The thing that most people don't know is that if you get one, you need to actually get two. The herding instinct is too strong, and they can go nuts if you just have one.

I like the Bayer stuff also but be careful it will also kill oak trees. I accidently killed two large oaks on my property when a large area of brush at their base was sprayed. I guess it gets into them through the roots or possibly the bark.

I haven't heard of this. I just sprayed some vines on one of our 100 year old oaks, and I did it twice, it would be very upsetting if I killed that beautiful tree.

I Must Have a tougher Type Of , Roundup Wont Touch Mine .Once Again its Not a Grass or a Weed . So you Have to use a Brush Killer . This is the Best I,ve found Its Starts working the day You Spray it .

Bayer Advanced Brush Killer Plus Concentrate

Anyone know a source to buy large quantity of this Brush Killer? It's pricey at local hardware store for a small bottle? The direction said it will mix about 6 gallons and cost about $50 bucks. I will need to mix at least 60 gallons....
