Help me buy a compact tractor - information overload...

John Deere designs and builds all the compact tractors in Georgia. They are no longer just Yanmar clones. We know they use Yanmar engines still (the cost to build a Tier IV engine from scratch would be astronomical and not cost effective so they are stuck using Yanmar which is a great engine)

Kubota designs and builds their own engines AND puts them in their own tractors. Clearly it IS possible. I suspect that being the CUT market leader is why this is possible.

All the re-designs = 1025r, new 2 series, new 3 series etc are now Deere designed.

Part of the higher cost of Deere and Kubota are because they both have US facilities building their tractors regardless of where they are sourcing the components which means their labor costs are higher.

No one said all the tractors weren't Deere designed. That's what "tractor makers" do now: design the tractor and have a factory *somewhere* build the various components to their specs, then they assemble them *somewhere* with those components. Some JD's are apparently wholly manufactured/assembled in other countries and shipped here. I'm not staking money on any of this, but I did read a lot more than one article, and researched more than one source. Don't really care much but feel Deere may be dissembling a bit about the whole "made in USA" bit.

That agrees with what I read, that most/all of the 4000 series JD's are made in Mexico.

I have green/red/blue/yellow stuff................no orange here yet lol...........they are tools not toys, do u own any wrenches that are not American made? ever buy anything from harbor freight? this is a can of worms for sure lol - good luck finding what will satisfy your justification because it will be hard to know where everything came from, what if a foreign person bolted your machine together? we could take this a long way and for what ?

chuckle.......I too have green red blue but the old Ford blue. I have no tools except for a rigid driver made in china all the rest is USA except for a couple of German tools.
I go in harbour frieght from time to time but never buy anything. Well i did buy a welding cart for the metal and changed the wheels braces and tray for my oxac tanks.
It gets harder for me everyday but some things are getting easier to find like clothes made in the USA.

That is a serial # for a H180 Loader. I understand and agree that tractor components are being made in other countries but Deere is building/assembling the tractors in Georgia.

My Mahindra was assembled in the USA too. They have five assembly plants here.

But according to JD most of their tractors are built of parts made in north America....at least the small tractors as that was what i inquired about specifically the 1025r and 2025

I just scoured Tractorhouse - they're all 1LV serial #'s. Somewhere along the line I believe I read that the older 1,2,3 series (only talking 4 or so years ago) were mostly designed by Yanmar and were pretty much clones with Deere's name stamped on them but all the new series are designed by Deere now. I was in love with the new 2 series except they don't offer a cab in the US. I believe the 2036R, 3038R series etc models are made in Europe (probably Mannheim which would be the Germany location GirlWhoWantsTractor referenced earlier) and have Mauser cabs which are really nice. Here in the US to get a cab model u have to bump up to a 3R series which bumps the price considerably as well.
