I'm pretty much doing the same thing you are and I chose the EA 60" double. Since this is the only grapple I've owned, I have no opinion to offer other than it gets the job done and so far no issues. I'll put in a second vote for getting the 3rd function.

Do the lids open at different speeds? If yes does it bug you or slow you down?

I would definitely recommend the third function AND beef up your grill guard to protect the radiator. Lots of threads on TBN where folks did this after expensive damage.View attachment 445331

Great idea about the grill guard. Is the grill guard in the pic have pins to fold the top half down? Is that DIY or bought? Looks very nice.

I like 60". Single or double is up to ya! $300 difference and I haven't heard of any game changing limitations of one vs. the other.

Please don't put up those little pictures.

They don't do it justice.

I have a single lid grapple - Land Pride SGC1560. I sprung for the $$$ and had the dealer install the third function. I find I use it so often that the bucket is seldom on the tractor. Its a very HD grapple but my experience told me to go this way and avoid "grapple damage".

Very good idea, we bent our grill a bit before fabricating one on ours.

The double grapple pic looks like something I saw in a horror movie once.... :)

MOTractor -

On each side, right at the level of the "tongue" - a pin on each side, so I can fold the guard forward. I took the basic guard to a welding shop and they did the expanded metal and the tongue. It wasn't cheap but then again neither is repair to a radiator/ new battery/etc. Its saved the radiator 2X that I know of and I'm careful to the extreme.
