Help me decide to do with some land

Have you looked into donating it to a Boys & Girls Club or someone who would use the property for a community garden - or Habitat For Humanity - sometimes the donation is worth more in tax deductions than you would get for the sale.

mobile home scrappers take the tin off sides or roof and the frame and any copper, leave the rest in a pile.

I have had several of those show interest but they don't like my terms, which are very simple. Everything inside that mobile home, including the mobile home and frame, is now all yours and will be removed by you completely off my land within 30 days. If you don't want the stuff in it, fine, burn it on your property or do what you want with it just don't leave it here.

I once had a property with a old mobile on it. I tried to give that thing away for about a year. no takers. I put an ad on craigs list for $500 and it sold in 3 days. Sometimes when people see free they think of junk.

Was the mobile home cleaned out? The problem I'm running into is there is a lot of junk in this thing and since the electricity has been cut off for a couple years the air in it is terrible and I'm not willing to breathe that stuff to clean it out.

Don't really have any advice on what you should do with it, other than to suggest that you make sure you have liability insurance on it given the old house and mobile home could be hazards...

That may be harder than you think. Insurers generally won't ensure structures that have been vacant for more than six months.

I would need better details to give more accurate advice but here's 2cents worth anyways.

Sink some money in(or elbow grease) and you'll reap the benefits. Hire a dumpster service, get family and friends and empty everything out. Than list the trailer for 50% of its value. Sell it to the first guy that comes along, make sure to collect a small non refundable deposit. Assess the house after its been cleared out. Bring in one real contractor for an opinion. Pay for his time if needed.

Rolling, wha' part of SC ye in? I had an old 10'x50' mobile home on our place that we lived while our house was built back in 1980. Different people lived in it over the years, but county taxed it too high. We could not give the thing away! Craigslist to sell, nope. I finally found a man in South Carolina (me place is near Augusta) who came and dismantled all but the frame, which he left. I finally cut it up with a saws all which cut it no problem, sold scrap iron for $250.00. Around our area of wha's called the CSRA, ye canno' give trailers, aka, mobile houses away.

I think if ye have the time, ye're just going to have to bite ye Olde bullet and tear all that mess down. Can ye burn on the land? Ye'll need to have a good burn pile, or trailer to haul mess to local dump. Let us know how it goes.
