I really like the color of your shop.

Why did you make the doors two different sizes?

Storage racks planned along the left wall would make the larger door pointless.

As for the color... we live next to national park land, and wanted the building to cause confusion about our road being a maintenance area...

Actually, it's so the building is less visible from the paved road... it blends into the woods nicely (probably why NPS uses those colors)...

Fiesta Concrete is in the shop....

The doorway was 12' 4" and the truck was 13' 2", so... they dug a hole in front of the 12' opening....

This is not what I envisioned storing inside the shop, but..... it does give a good point of reference for the overhead clearance.

Took two trucks (20 yards) of fiber reinforced cement, with just enough overspill to leave a 2x10 "ramp" at the left door opening. There's hardly any gravel under it, so that's probably just going to be broken up later this afternoon for the gravel....

Why didn't you use rebar?

It's fiber reinforced concrete, which the builder says doesn't need rebar on a 4" slab. Heaviest moving load will be the F250 and the Kubota.

I'm sorry to hear that you builder said that. All concrete needs rebar. Fiber helps to a small degree, but it does not replace rebar.

Well... that's how they pour house slabs here as well -- rebar in the footers, but the slab itself is just fiber concrete. We also don't have expansive soil or deep freezes here, which might be a mitigating difference.

I have a pedestal mount unit with a 20’ boom. The footing is 7’ square and deep with 12-1” bolts 6.5’ long and three matts of #6 rebar.
