Don't forget the Deere 4310 new. There are lotsa folks getting fantastic prices, and its an awesome machine... I really am pointing this out since you mentioned pricingf a used one. Heck, lotsa times the new oners are cheaper than used, go figure....

IWILL THROW IN MY $0.02. i think a 30 hp should do u fine. but i also would suggest the HST. you really need to try out different types tranys, and different model and name brand tractors. go to the dealers and drive them, sometimes not a matter of which one is best but more a matter of WHICH ONE IS BEST FOR YOU.

I'll go you one better, try to get dealers to bring different models to your site so you can REALLY see how they operate where you need them. At the very least, try a shuttle shift and and HST at your property. I think you'll quickly see why HST may be your best choice when going up and down hills. Some braking can be necessary if you stop your HST tractor on a steep slope, but for the most part they stop when you stop pressing the pedal.
I think you would find the Kioti CK30 to be just what the DR. ordered. Lots of great features, standard joystick and valve block (often optional on other brands) and plenty strong enough to haul good-sized implements.
Mahindra appears to be quite good also. I've seen them, but not used them, but posters report good results from them. John

You live in VA? See if you can head over to the Power Track factory in Tazewell. They are worth checking out. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks, Tazwell is a little too far out of my way.

Now, I've got Branson on my mind. 3510 w/FEL for 17100 OTD. Can it be beat?

Blee,
I'm local - so if you want a firsthand look at the 3510 without going to our local dealer, you're welcome to come by the house. I did the "big search" two years ago with all of the area dealers/tractors and decided on the 3510. Price and dealer both played a big part in my decision.

Thanks, it turns out a colleague of mine also owns a 3510 and his testimonial has darn-near got me writing a check. I should seal the deal before Christmas.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The guys at CPE take care of things quickly - no questions asked. Their only problem is getting enough tractors to fill the orders. If you need additional convincing, let me know. You would probably be pleasantly surprised to find out how many people at the hospital own a Branson.
