I can get a KingKutter 70" tiller for $899 here...I had already had a dealer to order a LP RTA2570 for more than double the price of KingKutter
just looking for opinions on whether the LP is worth that much more or not
and what is opionion of Gear driven KK vs. chain driven LP?

SmokyMtnMan, I have an RTS40 (40") Bush Hog, chain driven tiller that's seen a lot of use in the past 6 years and no problems at all (cost $1,300 in '95); however, I noticed in one of their catalogs that they also have gear driven models; heavier duty models I believe. Personally, if I were you, I'd go for the KK, but since I haven't used one myself, that's just my opinion.

I've got the 72" King Kutter gear drive - excellent unit. If you can get it for $900, it sounds like a bargain - I bought mine for $1200+tax, 3 summers ago. To date - not 1 problem.
