I've had a Husky straight shaft for about 5 years and have done noting to it except feed it string and gas. Plig and filter are original. I beat that thing senseless everyweek.
As was said, handle both the straigt shaft and the curved shaft. I will never buy another cuved shaft again. They just don't work as well for me. Fit a very limited amount of pute grass trimming, they are fine. But if you have to mow down hight weeds etc, you can't beat a straight shaft...Just my opinion.
True the Stihl and Echo make vatastic machines...I've been eyeing those up lately in case mine eventually lays an egg.
